Our First Aid Workshops are specially designed for primary school children in all year groups (Reception to Year 6), delivering fun, age-appropriate, and engaging sessions that build essential life-saving skills. Each workshop is carefully developed to align with National Curriculum guidelines, and they support the PSHE strand of First Aid ensuring children gain confidence and practical knowledge in a safe and supportive environment. As well as our Peritia Training First Aid Teacher-Led Resources (coming soon).

Our First Aid Workshops are ideal for enrichment days across your school. We can deliver a combination of workshops and shorter sessions for younger year groups, working flexibly around your timetable.


Little Lifesavers:

First Aid for Ages 4-6 (EYFS/ Reception-Year 1)

  • Understand what first aid means. What's in a first aid bag?

  • Recognize safe vs. unsafe situations.

  • Know how to call for help (999).

  • Learn the importance of staying calm

  • Basic understanding of caring for small cuts and bruises.

Our First Aid Workshop empowers our entire school community to respond safely and confidently in emergencies. Every pupil learns essential, age-appropriate first aid skills, ensuring they know how to act calmly and effectively when it matters most. All staff receive training and certification to nationally recognised standards, giving our school the assurance that we meet and exceed legal and regulatory first aid requirements. Most importantly, this program promotes a culture of safety, confidence, and care-helping us create a school environment where everyone looks out for one another.

A unified programme combining child-appropriate first aid sessions and staff professional training, ensuring the entire school community is prepared for emergencies.

Package Components

Children’s First Aid Training Age-appropriate sessions delivered separately for each group. This will include our workshops Little Lifesavers, First Aid Heroes and First Aid Crew.

Staff/ Teacher Accredited First Aid Training - Up to 12 Staff members per course. Or held on a Staff Training day which can be arranged for more than 12 staff members.

Staff Emergency Package - Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) or ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid for School and Colleges (FASch) 6 or 12 hours 

Accredited by: ITC First Accredited Course
Duration: 1 day (6 hours) or separated over 2 half days (3 hours)
Certification: Valid for 3 years

Course Overview:
Designed for all teaching and support staff, this course provides the essential skills to respond to workplace and classroom emergencies.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider

  • Assess an incident safely

  • Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty (CPR and AED)

  • Manage choking, bleeding, shock, and minor injuries

  • Recognise and respond to common medical conditions

Assessment:
Practical demonstrations, short written/oral assessments.

Staff Paediatric Package - ITC Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (PFA) 12 hours.

Accredited by: ITC First Accredited Course
Duration: 2 days (12 hours total, can be split over sessions)
Certification: Valid for 3 years

Who it’s for:
Early years practitioners, EYFS teachers, nursery staff, and any member of staff responsible for children under 5 years of age.

Course Overview:
Covers all aspects of first aid required to meet EYFS and Ofsted statutory requirements, with a focus on infants and young children.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider

  • Assess an emergency situation safely

  • Provide CPR and use an AED on infants and children

  • Manage choking, bleeding, and shock

  • Respond to allergic reactions, asthma, diabetes, seizures, and head injuries
    Treat burns, bites, and stings

  • Handle incidents of illness or injury in a childcare setting.

First Aid Heroes:

Ages 7-9 (Years 2-4)

  • Know what to do in an emergency.

  • Understand basic first aid steps: check, call, care. What's in a first aid bag?

  • Identify common injuries (cuts, burns, nosebleeds).

  • Practice bandaging and wound care.

  • Learn recovery position and safe airway basics.

First Aid Crew:

Ages 9-11(Years 5-6)

  • Assess an emergency situation safely (DR,ABC).

  • Understand how to make an emergency call and relay key info.

  • Know basic CPR principles and chest compression practice.

  • Deal with choking, minor burns, and bleeding.

  • Learn about allergies and how to respond.
